Purchased this phone to replace a DECT 6 Uniden 6 handset unit. The range on the Uniden was fairly short (compared to my old 900 Mhz one) and the battery issues were getting on my nerves!!!! The handsets would not stay charged and to replace the batteries- they were an order item. This Panasonic phone does hula hoops around my DECT 6.0 Uniden!!! Twice the range and guess what? The batteries are replaceable Ni-MH AAA style!!!! I love the talking caller ID (which you can edit the ’said’ name if it is in your contacts). Just an all around great phone- comfortable, solid, and more features than you could imagine- all the way down to turning off the display if it is sitting in it’s cradle- a nice feature to have it is on your nightstand. Want to get rid of the tone when you press a button? No problem– there is a menu toggle for that- Want to set the unit to silent mode for a couple hours while you take a nap? No problem– there is a feature for that!!! Want to set an alarm- guess what- you guessed it- there is a feature for that!!! The handsets even know when you are close to the base unit and go into powersave mode due to the short range needed to keep your call crystal clear. Panasonic DECT 6.0 3-Handset Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with Answering System and ChoiceMail (KX-TG7433B) (Black) Price

Panasonic has created a high-quality, yet relatively inexpensive cordless phone system with the DECT 6.0. We needed to replace an older Radio Shack system that worked well for many years, but finally started to fail after many battery replacements and a lot of use. These phones worked perfectly out of the box, were easy to set up and program and have given us very reliable service for the past month. Since we use a voicemail system that comes as part of our Comcast VoIP system, we aren’t using the built-in answering system on the phones, so I can’t comment on its use.

One interesting feature is the use of rechargeable AA batteries. These batteries are very easy to swap out, and presumably the phone would also work with standard AA batteries in a pinch. I haven’t tried that though.  Read more...

When I need a cordless telephone, I only look at one brand: “Panasonic”. I’ve tried many brands and was never completely satisfied like I am with a Panasonic. In fact I have returned every other brand of cordless phone that I have ever purchased. They’re just not as good as Panasonic.

The sound quality is outstanding and the ease of use is unbelievable. The only thing that I am dissatisfied with in this newest handset design is that Panasonic changed the “message waiting indicator light” on the top of the handset. The light no longer wraps around to the front and back of the phone. It is now mounted flush on the top of the handset. If you are at eye level with the phone you cannot see that the message waiting light is flashing. A very poor design. The handset does however display that a voice message is waiting on the front LCD screen, but it does not attract your attention like a flashing light.  Read more...

Panasonic KX-TG6074B 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Answering System with 4 Handsets Price

I have gone through many phones over the years and this set-up is great for our use. First, the “talking caller ID” is wonderful. You can hear who is calling without having to interrupt what you are doing to see who is calling. Great for all the calls that come in for the kids. The speaker phone works great for working at home. The handsets can use a headset with no problem and the mute button blinks when on so you can confirm you are in mute mode. The handset also has a readout when there are voice messages available (we have a voice message service with the local provider). The range for the phone works great and can still answer the phone while at the neighbors house. We do not have any interference like other phones when they pick up other conversations at the frequency. Overall a very good purchase.  Read more...
